News Media

Working in news media has taught me many valuable skills that have come in incredibly handy. I can edit a newcast in under 30 mins, thanks to quick commands in Premiere Pro, time management, and other tips I've picked up along the way. I use a mixture of video editing and audio editing to make sure the show are done to the highest quality possible.

01

Cold Open

Cold open are made for when theres big news the producers want everyone to know right away. The producer will look for sound bites through interview taken throughout the day, ask an anchor to record a voice over, and I take all that material and put it together into a package for the show to open up to.

02

Packages

Packages are the reporter's story for the day, packaged up all together. Most reporters actually will edit their own, but sometimes things happen where an editor has to step in and make the packages for them.

There are situations, too, where an anchor needs to record a voice-over for a package that has already been edited. Matching the script to the video is an important part of editing, especially when the package includes graphics and charts that should match the voiceover.

03

Interview TLC

Sometimes interviews are done, but some technical issues can happen that compromise the audio. With some quick fixes through iZoptoe RX and other audio editing tricks, the audio can be saved, which means the interview is saved!
