Dialouge
Breath
Breaths are necessary. You need air to speak. Some breaths are distracting and can take too much time to get out. I'm very careful with breaths. Words and phrases might need that breath that led into them, and without it, they can sound unnatural. But some breathes are just unnecessary and can take too much time out of the performance.

Plosives
Some words take more energy to reproduce into a sound. Basic words that can make plosives are 'P', 'B', 'T', and 'K.' Plosives can make a 'popping' sound that sounds harsh to the ear.

Ums, Ers, Uhs
We all use filler words like ums, err, uh when speaking. For a recording, that isn't ideal. It can make statements sound more conversational and lose the impact as speaker might have intended.

Audio Clip
Audio can clip or distort when the gain is either set too high or when there's a lot of energy being produced while speaking. There's no need to re-record whole interviews when some quick fixes can be made and save the entire project!

Pause
Everyone loses their train of thought at some point in their life. That doesn't mean that the recording isn't usable! Quick edit fixes can turn a trashed take into clean ones.
